Wiki- My Book Review

Hello everybody, in this post I will introduce you to Wiki, provide some information about it and I'll include my book review that I created on Wiki.

• What is Wiki?

Wiki is a website or database developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.

The term “wiki” is derived from the hawaiian phrase, ”wiki-wiki” which means “quick”.

The most well-known example of Wiki is Wikipedia.

Wikis are a way to grow a knowledge base around a particular content area, be it best practices in a particular field or how to use a specific piece of software. Some organizations allow any registered user to contribute; others limit contributors to a particular department or group.

As Wikis includes all kinds of informations, it has a broad range of use. People from all over the world can use this technology to develop their languge skills. As it only requires basic programming skills for installation, setup and maintenance, younger learners can also use it easily as well as adults.

• What about my Wiki task?

Having just finished the Wiki task, I can’t say that I didn’t hesitate before creating an entry on Wiki because I felt I was not proficient enough to guide people about certain things. But after creating my page, I thought it was actually fun to tell people about your interests, inform them and making recommendations.

What is more, as though our teacher asked for us a 250 words entry, I couldn’t help but writing about 400 words! I tried my best to make it shorter but it looked so incomplete so I took a risk and wrote everthing I thought my visitors should know. (I am sure my teacher will excuse my enthusiasm 😊)

So I wrote an entry about one of my favorite books, 1984 by George Orwell. Here are the information about the book along with my thoughts, enjoy!
