What about our Podcasting process?
After we are introduced with podcast by our teacher, we are asked to prepare a story and record it by using different sound effects. So me and my friends gathered and started brainstorming about our story- the plot, characters, who should vocalize the characters and the narrating. After two and a half hour of discussion, we created our thrilling story and started working on the technique parts; we recorded various sound effects to use during the story.
We choose Vocaroo as the tool and finally recorded our first trial. It didn't go as planned. We got nervous while reading our lines, mixed the words or wanted to have breaks in the end of our lines. We also needed small breaks to rehearse the sound effects properly once again just before playing them. But it was impossible as Vocaroo doesn't has the option to standstill the record which caused us to struggle so much.
After failing more than 30 times, we eventually managed to record it as we planned. This process took us for more than three hours. By the time we finished with the assignment, we felt extremely tired.
My opinions about this application- would I use it when I become a teacher?
I think the process is fun when you do it with your good friends. It involves so much creativity and organiztion. It is entertaining to listen to it and share it with your friends. But as I mentioned above, despite its simplicity, it has an important constraint which makes it impractical to use it consistently. I probably would use Vocaroo one or two more times when I become a teacher but it is not my go to website for such an activity. Still I am happy to have this podcast, I am sure people will enjoy listening it.
If you say you liked its simple design and won't be disturbed by that constraint, I definitely recommend it to you, go give it a try!
